C. D. Jathanna (Born 6 July 1928,〔 Died 1996〔) was the fourth 〔K. M. ()〕 Bishop - in - Karnataka Central Diocese headquartered in Bangalore with the ''Cathedra'' of the Bishop placed at St. Mark's Cathedral, Bangalore. ==Studies== Jathanna studied Bachelor of Arts completing it by 1951.〔 For a year he worked as a Rationing Officer〔 with the Government of Tamil Nadu ''(erstwhile Government of Madras)'' before proceeding for spiritual studies at the United Theological College, Bangalore during the years 1952-1955〔K. M. Hiwale (Compiled), ''Directory of the United Theological College 1910-1997'', Bangalore, 1997. p.25〕 where he studied along with E. C. John, Victor Premasagar, N. D. Ananda Rao Samuel and others. In 1958〔 he pursued a postgraduate degree, Master of Theology at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. In 1964,〔 Jathanna went on study leave to the University of Hamburg, Hamburg where he studied Old Testament at the Faculty of Evangelical Theology under Klaus Koch, a direct student of Gerhard von Rad and was able to complete his doctoral dissertation in 1967 which was later published in 1969 under the title ''The Covenant and covenant making in Pentateuch''.〔Constantine Devaprasad Jathanna, ''The Covenant and covenant making in Pentateuch'', University of Hamburg, Hamburg, 1969.
